A growing number of vets are stating that cooked or processed pet food is the main cause of illness and premature death in the modern house pet!

Animals are meant to eat a 100% raw diet... but is that practical? What is the answer for keeping your pet healthy with a modern pet diet?

The answer is...
Total-Zymes® Digestive Enzyme Formula

A high performance broad-spectrum digestive enzyme formula. Total-Zymes® is the most complete pet digestive enzyme product in the world, NOW utilizing 16 high performance vegetarian enzymes and our exclusive L.E.A.D.S.® Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System®. L.E.A.D.S.® insures complete digestion and assimilation of all your pet's food at a cellular level.

Digestive enzymes are very specific. They will only digest the exact food type for which they are named. As an example lipase will digest only lipids or fats as they are commonly called. Lipase will not do anything to digest protein or carbohydrates.

For complete digestion you must include all the different enzymes in a product to digest each type of food ingredient. A digestive product that contains only four, five or six enzymes will do a poor job digesting the complex ingredients of today's high quality pet food.

That's why we at NWC Naturals Pet Products LLC (Ultra-Pet Products LLC) formulated Total-Zymes® with a special blend of SIXTEEN powerful vegetarian enzymes to completely digest and deliver all the nutrients of today's modern pet diet, with just one scoop of Total-Zymes® per cup of any pet food. In addition we have added 120,000 FCCPU of bromelain from pineapple as a systemic enzyme. This will help support pets with allergies, itching and the painful stiff joints of older pets.

Using Total-Zymes® on your pet's food is as close as you can get to the benefits of an all raw food diet.

Probiotics are linked to long life.

For centuries natives of the Balkan islands have enjoyed extraordinary long and healthy lives. It was eventually determined that their good fortune was, in part, due to the fact that they ingest large quantities of lactobacilli (good bacteria) at every meal. A large breed pet weighing 65-70 pounds needs up to 1.5 pounds of beneficial bacteria in its gut to protect against disease and illness! Without good bacteria, a pet's body would be unable to fight off disease, absorb food properly, and their intestines become overrun with toxins and waste, which set the breeding ground for disease. Unfortunately, every time your pet drinks chlorinated water, eats fatty foods, gets stressed, or becomes overly tired, good bacteria is destroyed in their body. Even the pet foods we feed our pets to keep them healthy- like meat and poultry- can contain antibiotics, further reducing their levels of good bacteria. For most pets this negatively affects their body's ability to stay healthy on a daily basis.

Total-Biotics® is specially formulated with an astounding 11 species of stabilized pro-biotics, instead of the usual 1 - 2 forms provided in most other products. It also contains over one half billion CFUs (colony forming units) in each scoop for maximum protection. To insure that you get one half billion CFUs in each scoop we actually make the product with double that amount, one full billion per scoop. That way if you do not refrigerate Total-Biotics® it will still maintain the one half billion CFUs guaranteed per scoop.

But why does my pet need so many enzymes?

We have researched many dog and cat foods and treats. Did you know that your pet could be getting added sugars and dairy products? We noticed this trend when we went to the largest pet expo in the U.S., so we added additional enzymes to our already superior formula to handle this trend.

We always advise that you do not give your pets sugar, but there are a lot of hidden sugars and dairy you sometimes do not know about in those cute little doggie and kitty cakes and cookies.

It is very hard for animals to digest cooked and processed food as it is, so this is why we now have 16 enzymes in our Total-Zymes® formula- so your pet can handle any type of treat or food.

Many good pet food companies put a lot of thougt and very good ingredients into their products, but by not digesting it properly, the pet does not get the full benefit out of the food you just spend a lot of money on. This can overwork the pancreas, stress the immune system, and weaken their overall health.

Pancreatic Enzymes or Non-animal Enzymes

Total-Zymes® For Pets does NOT contain any animal based enzymes and here is why:

Supplemental pancreatic, plant, and microbial enzymes are all designed to enhance digestion. However, plant and microbial enzymes use a "pro-active" approach and begin working on foods soon after ingestion. Pancreatic enzymes do not go to work right away. Pancreatic enzymes usually begin working approximately 30 minutes after food reaches the stomach and up to 80% of the enzymes are destroyed in the stomach.

Because of their stability in the acidic environment of the upper stomach, vegetarian enzymes can begin their digestive action immediately after the food reaches this region. With the increased exposure to digestive enzyme activity, food has a better chance of being broken down into small, more readily absorbed particles.

Pancreatic enzymes:

enzymes for dogs and cats Will not work in the stomach: Their activity is limited to a narrow pH range
enzymes for dogs and cats Have a delayed effect
enzymes for dogs and cats Are easily destroyed by acidity of the stomach
enzymes for dogs and cats Do not break down fiber and certain carbohydrates
enzymes for dogs and cats May cause side effects

One pancreatin label actually read: High doses may cause diarrhea, cramping, or vomiting. If you observe any of these reactions, contact your veterinarian immediately. If your pet experiences an allergic reaction to the medication, signs may include facial swelling, hives, scratching, sudden onset of diarrhea, vomiting, shock, seizures, pale gums, cold limbs, or coma. If you observe any of these signs, contact your veterinarian immediately. Precautions: Do not use in animals hypersensitive (allergic) to pork products. The powder may irritate or burn the skin on contact. Wash immediately if you get any on your skin or your pet's skin. Wash hands after handling this medication.

Is this something you would give your pet?

Total-Zymes® for Pets does not have any side effects. Safe to use and no warnings on the label.

Every pet can benefit from supplementation with enzymes and probiotics.

Even healthy pets may improve their absorption and utilization of nutrients through the use of digestive enzymes and probiotics. By using a supplemental enzyme on your pet’s food you free up their body's digestive system. When enzymes are missing from our pet's food, the full burden of digestion falls on the pet's own digestive system.

Total-Biotics Ingredients:

NWC Naturals Pet Products LLC  utilizes eleven different pro-biotics researched and developed by Dr. Khem Shahani.

Acidophilus DDS-1 strain- researched and developed by Dr. Khem Shahani for over 77 years, Acidophilus is the most effective pro-biotic strain, defending against the greatest number of pathogens: inhibiting 11 disease-causing bacteria. Called the "sticker strain," Acidophilus has the ability to actually cling to the intestinal wall without harming it. In fact, it is best known for its ability to move un-disrupted through the stomach and into the intestines where it eats away at disease causing bacteria. It is known for reducing the occurrence of constipation and diarrhea, increasing nutrient uptake (especially calcium), preventing food poisoning and alleviating dermatitis and other skin and coat conditions.

B. bifidum- is normally found in the mucus membranes lining of the large intestine and vaginal tract, where it attaches to the walls removing yeast that would further lower the pH levels and allow bacteria to grow. Supplementation has been shown to modify intestinal flora, ward off liver problems and protect against the damaging affects of radiation. It also helps control diarrhea and other intestinal disturbances.

B. infantis- inhibits gastroenteritis and can ward off some strains of E. coli. According to the Journal of Applied Bacteriology, B. infantis is part of an important group of microorganisms, which are considered to exert a range of biological activities related to human health. This particular strain of pro-biotic has also been shown to produce compounds that are useful in preventing solid tumor growth.

B. longum- aids in the cleansing and health of the colon and liver. It has even been shown to significantly inhibit the growth of colon, liver and breast cancers in laboratory animals. It is also known for supporting breast health.

L. casei- is reported to be one of the most potent defenders from the potentially fatal Listeria bacteria. It is also known for its ability to induce an immune response that is helpful in protecting against sexually transmitted diseases.

L. plantarum- can be found in naturally fermented foods. In your body it is found in the large intestine where it helps to break down protein into usable nutrients, thus reducing inflammation.

L. rhamnosus- is one of the more highly studied pro-biotic strains, primarily used in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. It also aids the body in resisting yeast and urinary tract infections.

L. salivarius- has been shown through research to produce a high amount of lactic acid, which is able to inhibit the growth of H. pylori, thusly reducing the associated inflammation and risk of peptic ulcers.

S. thermophilus- is known for repairing free radical damage from aging, stress, antibiotics, chlorinated water and other chemicals. It also contains an antioxidant that helps protect against the toxins present in the Standard Pet Diet and in treating the pain caused by arthritis.

L. lactis- has been shown through research to produce a high amount of lactic acid, which is able to inhibit the growth of H. pylori, thusly reducing the associated inflammation and risk of peptic ulcers. It is also beneficial to supplement the diet in maintaining normal intestinal flora.

L. helveticus- has been shown through research that strains of L. helveticus diminish tumor growth, stimulating an anti-tumor immune response.

The other ingredients in Total-Biotics®

Pre-biotics- Inulin IQ FOS (Fructooligosaccharides)- one of the best-known pre-biotics, is a class of simple carbohydrates found naturally in certain plants, such as Jerusalem artichokes, onions, and bananas. FOS is known to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. It has been shown to stimulate growth of bifidobacteria in the colon where many diseases first take root. Supplementing with FOS can greatly increase metabolic activity in the colon and help relieve constipation and reduce the production of intestinal putrefactive substances. Healthy colon function is vital to a properly functioning immune system.

The only patented stabilized glutamine in the world- MGG chelate- This stabilized Glutamine re-writes the book on utilizing anabolic nitrogen molecules to help cleanse and fortify the body. Glutamine yields beneficial effects on the intestinal mucosa and is also the major metabolic fuel for the small intestine. The addition of the chelated glutamine to Total-Biotics® greatly improves the stability and colonization characteristics of beneficial bacteria in the pet's intestinal tract and is an essential nutrient that is required by the intestinal cells. It can actually help repair a damaged intestinal tract.

Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System® (L.E.A.D.S.®)- Total-Biotics® contains our exclusive Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System®. It is this delivery system that guarantees assimilation and utilization of the nutrients at the cellular level. L.E.A.D.S.® (Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System®) is a proprietary system of adding a blend of select enzymes to botanical and whole-food products for the purpose of improving the release and absorption of nutrients contained in these products.

This special blend of supplemental enzymes works to extract the nutrients from the formula in the most bioavailable form so your pet's body can use them easily and efficiently. The L.E.A.D.S.® Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System® is formulated to match the specific needs of each individual product made by NWC Naturals Pet Products and are based on a unique and proprietary method. It is especially beneficial with products providing a whole-food source of vitamins, minerals and pro-biotics.

Total-Zymes®  Ingredients:

Total-Zymes now has more enzymes for total digestion and to help improve the overall health of your pet!

List Of Our 16 Enzymes:

Protease 6.0- Is used to break down proteins to peptides. It will not digest protein to amino acids. A second enzyme is necessary for that to happen.

Protease 3.0- Is used to break down proteins in a different PH range.

Protease 4.5- Is used to break down proteins in a different PH range then the other two.

Peptidase- Helps digest protein molecules. Four varieties of protease enzymes have been combined in this formula to compensate for the higher protein diets of pets.

Amylase-  An enzyme that breaks down sugars and starches. Good for those hidden sugars in pet treats. And helps digest corn, potatoes, rice, etc.

Alpha-Galactosidase- This enzyme breaks down carbohydrates such as vegetables and whole grains. It can help prevent gas and other gastrointestinal symptoms.

Beta-Glucanase- This enzyme is used to break down carbohydrates, specifically starches.

Diastase- (sometimes called maltase) is an enzyme that is the catalyst in the hydrolysis of disaccharide maltose to the simple sugar form, glucose.

Lipase- Will digest only lipids or fats as they are commonly called. Lipase will not do anything to digest protein or carbohydrates.

Cellulase- Works on Cellulose, an indigestible fiber found in many fruits and vegetables.

Pectinase- Breaks down fruit and vegetable pectins and aids in detoxifying.

Phytase- Breaks down carbohydrates, specifically phytates in plants. It can increase mineral absorption and the bio-availability of iron, zinc, calcium, and magnesium.

Hemicellulase- Is used to break down carbohydrates, especially polysaccharides such as hemicelluloses, which are found in plant foods.

Bromelain- Is most notable for its effectiveness in normalizing inflammation and decreasing swelling. It is a natural systemic enzyme with many uses.

NEW! Lactase-  Helps digest lactose and milk sugars. Lactase is required to break down lactose (a primary sugar found in mammalian milk).  Also to help digest yogurt, milk products, and cheese.

NEW! Glucoamylase-  Is used to break down carbohydrates, specifically polysaccharides, simple sugars. Many new dog treats have hidden sugar.

Total-Zymes® and Total-Biotics® SUGGESTED USE:

One scoop (approximately 625 mg) of each product per cup of pet food. A free scoop is inside every can of Total-Zymes® and Total-Biotics®. Put the amount of food to be treated in a container with a snap on lid. Add one scoop of each formula for each cup of food. You can treat the entire days worth of kibble all at one time and then feed out of that container for all the meals that day. You can treat, if you wish, only the kibble, but then add enough of both formulas to cover other foods such as canned or roll food that will be added to the dish that day.

Total-Biotics® For Candida And Yeast

When you use Total-Biotics® on your pets’ food to treat candida we recomend you double the normal dose to help get the yeast under control. That is two scoops of Total-Biotics® per cup of food, when you feed your pet.

You must use Total-Biotics® first to reseed the gut with good guy bacteria and also use Oxy-pH Boost™ to help enhance the implantation of the probiotics and help fight the bad bacteria and yeasts .

Directions For Raw Fed Pets

Use these directions if you are feeding your pet only 100% raw meat wothout cooked potatoes, rice or vegetables.  Cut the amount of Total-Zymes® to ¼ to ½ scoops per cup of raw food.Using Total-Zymes® will replace the enzymes lost in the freezing and/or handling of the meat. Any left over enzymes that are not needed to digest the food will be used systemically to combat inflammation and joint discomfort. Those enzymes will also work on possible allergens such as pollen, dander, dust mite feces and more. In addition, the enzymes can help to prevent itching from flea bites. (There is a protein in a flea’s salvia that causes the itching after a bite.)

Total-Biotics® on the other hand should be doubled to two scoops per cup of raw food. This will insure your pet’s intestinal tract remains well populated with good bacteria thus crowding out bad bacteria and yeasts. Because the meat is not a fresh kill like it would be in the wild, (a squirrel or rabbit) and has been handled in a commercial meat packing plant, the possibility of bacterial contamination is greater. (E.coli, salmonella ,etc.) Remember: freezing does not kill bacteria.

We have many raw fed dog and cats that are thriving on this adjusted dosing of Total-Zymes® and Total-Biotics®.

TOTAL-BIOTICS® FAQ

1. Is Total-Biotics® just for sick pets?

No. This is the most powerful high colony forming formula in the world supplying 1⁄2 Billion CFUs of 11 different strains of good guy bacteria matched to each cup of food consumed. Of course pets that are convalescing definitely will benefit greatly from this product. Total-Biotics®  is designed for daily use for all pets on every cup of food. It is essential that all pets have a daily supplement of pro-biotics to build their susceptible immune systems.

2. What type of research is behind the Total-Biotics® formula?
Total-Biotics® combines the latest research and clinical studies into one powerful formula. The probiotics in this formula were selected after consulting with Dr. Khem Shahani from the University of Nebraska. Dr. Shahani is recognized as one of the world’s foremost authorities on beneficial bacteria supplementation and is a pioneer in the discovery of DDS-1 Acidophilus.

3. Does Total-Biotics® have a bad taste?
Total-Biotics® basically has no flavor! Since it is all human grade ingredients, try it yourself.

4. Are there any side effects?
Total-Biotics® has no known side effects.

5. If my pet is on medication, can I safely use this formula?
It is safe to take Total-Biotics® along with medication. There are no known drug interactions and the ingredients do not alter the action of any medications. In fact, since antibiotics can actually wreak havoc on your pet’s immune system, taking probiotics along with medications can positively affect their health.

6. I already give my pet a multi-vitamin, why take this formula in addition?
Multivitamins provide general nutritional support to the body but only if you have enough good bacteria in your body to allow for absorption. Total-Biotics® uses 11 strains of probiotics to help clean your pet's system of toxins and improve nutrient absorption.

7. Why do I have to wait for 1-2 hours before using probiotics after using Oxy-pH Boost™ for pets?

Oxy-pH Boost™ for pets in the long run will promote a healthy probiotic balance by killing yeast overgrowths and suppressing harmful bacteria. It is a bit too strong however, to come in contact with newly introduced probiotics that are trying to implant and colonize. Waiting the 1-2 hours gives the probiotics a head start to implant and colonize the intestinal tract. Topical application of Oxy-pH Boost™ for pets can be done at any time.

8. How do I use Total-Biotics® for candida and yeast?

When you use Total-Biotics® on your pet's food we recommend doubling the normal dose to help get the yeast under control. That is two scoops of Total-Biotics® per cup of food, when you feed your pet.

9. Can probiotics and enzymes help with constipation in dogs and cats?

Total-Biotics® and Total-Zymes® for pets can help support a good bowel movement. Probiotics are responsible for controlling the moisture content of the stools. With the supplementation of probiotics this will help things move along. This is not a laxative effect but is part of the natural balance of the colon. Digestive enzymes will help digest the food in the stomach which helps move things along as well.

TOTAL-ZYMES® FAQ

1. What are enzymes?
Enzymes are products that either begin or enhance the speed of chemical reactions. Present in the cells of plants and animals, they regulate biochemical reactions in both active and inactive forms. They are specific with respect to their functions and do only that which they were designed to do. They have been called the spark of life!

2. Why use non-animal produced or vegetarian enzymes over animal/pancreatic enzymes?
Vegetarian enzymes are more pure, very proactive, and react faster within their specific task. Animal/pancreatic enzymes, although designed to react the same way, may cause several negative side effects. This is becuase they may bring inherently non-compatible elements from their originations to your pet. These products generally carry a warning label regarding possible side effects from their use. Pancreatin can also be very aggressive.

3. Why TOTAL-ZYMES®?

The marketplace is full of products that claim to aid in issues of every kind. Many products contain some of the ingredients that help with those issues, yet they do not contain enough of those ingredients to be truly therapeutic.  They may do something to help the issue, but they may not do enough. Other products may use some high quality ingredients, but may compromise elsewhere. At NWC Naturals Pet Products LLC., we use every element necessary to digest any food your pet may consume. We also made sure we added more than enough enzymes to do the task completely. When enzymes do their work they must have a supply of high quality chelated minerals to activate the enzymes. These minerals are burned up in that catalytic enzyme activity. If those necessary minerals are not in the digestive enzymes formula itself, then those enzymes will rob the tissues and organs of those minerals in order to accomplish the complete digestion. To prevent this from happening and to enhance the speed and efficiency of our enzyme formula we have added our L.E.A.D.S.® system of patented chelated minerals so the process would be complete unto itself. The L.E.A.D.S.® system is exclusive to NWC Naturals™ Pet Products. In addition we have selected the best primary source ingredients so as to enhance our products performance. Total-Zymes® is the only product with 16 vegetarian enzymes for the total digestive solution.

4.  Are there any possible side effects of using Probiotics and Enzymes in pets?

Probiotics and/or enzymes can sometimes cause diarrhea or vomiting much like when you do a food change too quickly. When the health of an animal has been compromised for some time, things can start out worse before getting better. This happens in a few pets, just like people can have a "cleansing" or a "healing crisis". Experiencing digestive upset with probiotic or enzyme use is many times caused by the poor quality commercial pet food that is hard for your pet to break down and digest. This type of food moves slowly through the intestines allowing some fecal plaque to adhere to your pet's intestinal walls, and may thicken over time. Even fairly young animals can experience some intestinal blockage as a result of this build up. Probiotics and enzymes will slowly begin to dissolve the fecal matter, and during this clearing/cleansing process, pathogens and microbes that were covered up with layers of fecal matter will be exposed and can cause episodes of diarrhea or vomiting. Depending on the level of buildup, it may take a few months before it is completely removed. To help restore your animal's health and happiness we suggest feeding them a more digestible diet and also reducing their dosage of probiotics and enzymes to a more tolerable level, then building the dosage back up gradually as your pet begins to feel better.

5. Why does my pet’s stool get smaller with enzymes?

A dog or cat's digestive system is designed to process only raw food, primarily meat. In the wild no dog or cat would Bar-B-Que their food. Cats and dogs' digestive systems are short and food eaten should have a relatively short transit time. Raw food contains all the enzymes needed to digest itself, thus it digests quickly and completely resulting in a small stool. Kibble, canned, or other cooked food is lacking the enzymes to digest quickly or completely. When Total-Zymes® is added to cooked food the food is digested quickly and efficiently resulting in smaller stools and better health.
