LEADSVegerarian Approved
The L.E.A.D.S.® system (Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System®) optimizes our pro-biotics' effectiveness in your pet's digestive tract helping the pro-biotics implant and colonize. Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System ® (L.E.A.D.S. ®) insures assimilation at a cellular level. This particular combination of mineral cofactors helps to activate each individual enzyme for maximum particle digestion and complete nutrient distribution throughout the body. It increases the formula's bioavailability.

Using Total-Zymes® PLUS™ on your pet's food is as close as you can get to the benefits of an all raw food diet.

How to handle and store Total-Zymes® PLUS™

All pro-biotics will benefit from proper storage to insure a long shelf life with full potency. Nothing in Total-Zymes® PLUS™ actually goes stale or bad with time. The potency will go down depending on how it is stored. If stored at room temperature we guarantee full potency through the date printed on the jar.

Since we only use fully stabilized versions of the pro-biotics and we formulate with double what we claim on the label, we can guarantee the potency that is listed on the label if left out at room temperature. When Total-Zymes® PLUS™ is stored in the refrigerator you can add 6 months to the life of the product.

When you store Total-Zymes® PLUS™ in the freezer you can add one full year to the life of the product. Always keep the lid tightly closed. When you receive your product check the date and decide if you will be using the product up by that date. If not, then either refrigerate or freeze the product accordingly.

Enzymes:

Protease 6.0- Is used to break down proteins to peptides. It will not digest protein to amino acids. A second enzyme is necessary for that to happen.

Protease 3.0- Is used to break down proteins in a different PH range.

Protease 4.5- Is used to break down proteins in a different PH range then the other two.

Peptidase- Helps digest protein molecules. Four varieties of protease enzymes have been combined in this formula to compensate for the higher protein diets of pets.

Amylase-  An enzyme that breaks down sugars and starches. Good for those hidden sugars in pet treats. Also helps digest corn, potatoes, rice etc.

Alpha-Galactosidase- This enzyme breaks down carbohydrates such as vegetables and whole grains. It can help prevent gas and other gastrointestinal symptoms.

Beta-Glucanase- This enzyme is used to breakdown carbohydrates, specifically starches.

Diastase- (Sometimes called maltase) Is an enzyme that is the catalyst in the hydrolysis of disaccharide maltose to the simple sugar form - glucose.

Lipase- Will digest only lipids or fats as they are commonly called. Lipase will not do anything to digest protein or carbohydrates.

Cellulase- Works on Cellulose, an indigestible fiber found in many fruits and vegetables.

Pectinase- Breaks down fruit and vegetable pectins and aids in detoxifying.

Phytase- Breaks down carbohydrates, specifically phytates in plants. It can increase mineral absorption and the bio-availability of iron, zinc, calcium, and magnesium.

Hemicellulase- Is used to breakdown carbohydrates, especially polysaccharides such as hemicelluloses, which are found in plant foods.

Bromelain- Is most notable for its effectiveness in normalizing inflammation and decreasing swelling. As a natural systemic enzyme with many uses.

Probiotics:

Acidophilus DDS-1 strain- researched and developed by Dr. Khem Shahani for over 77 years, Acidophilus is the most effective pro-biotic strain, defending against the greatest number of pathogens: inhibiting 11 disease-causing bacteria. Called the "sticker strain," Acidophilus has the ability to actually cling to the intestinal wall without harming it. In fact, it is best known for its ability to move un-disrupted through the stomach and into the intestines where it eats away at disease causing bacteria. It is known for reducing the occurrence of constipation and diarrhea, increasing nutrient uptake (especially calcium), preventing food poisoning and alleviating dermatitis and other skin and coat conditions.

B. bifidum- is normally found in the mucus membranes lining of the large intestine and vaginal tract, where it attaches to the walls removing yeast that would further lower the pH levels and allow bacteria to grow. Supplementation has been shown to modify intestinal flora, ward off liver problems and protect against the damaging affects of radiation. It also helps control diarrhea and other intestinal disturbances.

B. infantis- inhibits gastroenteritis and can ward off some strains of E. coli. According to the Journal of Applied Bacteriology, B. infantis is part of an important group of microorganisms, which are considered to exert a range of biological activities related to human health. This particular strain of pro-biotic has also been shown to produce compounds that are useful in preventing solid tumor growth.

B. longum- aids in the cleansing and health of the colon and liver. It has even been shown to significantly inhibit the growth of colon, liver and breast cancers in laboratory animals. It is also known for supporting breast health.

L. casei- is reported to be one of the most potent defenders from the potentially fatal Listeria bacteria. It is also known for its ability to induce an immune response that is helpful in protecting against sexually transmitted diseases.

L. plantarum- can be found in naturally fermented foods. In your body it is found in the large intestine where it helps to break down protein into usable nutrients, thus reducing inflammation.

L. rhamnosus- is one of the more highly studied pro-biotic strains, primarily used in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. It also aids the body in resisting yeast and urinary tract infections.

L. salivarius- has been shown through research to produce a high amount of lactic acid, which is able to inhibit the growth of H. pylori, thusly reducing the associated inflammation and risk of peptic ulcers.

S. thermophilus- is known for repairing free radical damage from aging, stress, antibiotics, chlorinated water and other chemicals. It also contains an antioxidant that helps protect against the toxins present in the Standard Pet Diet and in treating the pain caused by arthritis.

L. lactis- has been shown through research to produce a high amount of lactic acid, which is able to inhibit the growth of H. pylori, thusly reducing the associated inflammation and risk of peptic ulcers. It is also beneficial to supplement the diet in maintaining normal intestinal flora.

L. helveticus- has been shown through research that strains of L. helveticus diminish tumor growth, stimulating an anti-tumor immune response.

Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System® (L.E.A.D.S.®) - Contains our exclusive Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System®. It is this delivery system that guarantees assimilation and utilization of the nutrients at the cellular level. L.E.A.D.S.® (Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System®) is a proprietary system of adding a blend of select enzymes to botanical and whole-food products for the purpose of improving the release and absorption of nutrients contained in these products.

Total-Zymes Plus Supplement Facts

1. Is Total-Zymes® PLUS™  just for sick pets?

No. This is the most powerful high colony forming formula in the world supplying 1⁄2 Billion CFUs of 11 different strains of good guy bacteria matched to each cup of food consumed. Of course pets that are convalescing definitely will benefit greatly from this product. Total-Zymes® PLUS™ is designed for daily use for all pets in every cup of food. It is essential that all pets have a daily supplement of probiotics and enzymes to build their susceptible immune systems.

2. What type of research is behind the Total-Zymes® PLUS™ formula?

Total-Zymes® PLUS™ combines the latest research and clinical studies into one powerful formula. The probiotics in this formula were selected after consulting with Dr. Khem Shahani from the University of Nebraska. Dr. Shahani is recognized as one of the world’s foremost authorities on beneficial bacteria supplementation and is a pioneer in the discovery of DDS-1 Acidophilus. In addition, the enzymes have over 30 years of research behind them.

3. Does Total-Zymes® PLUS™ have a bad taste?

Total-Zymes® PLUS™ basically has a subtle carob and brewer’s yeast flavor.  Most pets will just eat it down with their meal. Since it is all human grade ingredients, try it yourself.

4. Can probiotics and enzymes help with constipation in dogs and cats?

Total-Zymes® PLUS™ for pets can help support a good bowel movement. Probiotics are responsible for controlling the moisture content of the stools. The supplementation of probiotics will help things move along, not by causing a laxative effect but by supporting the natural balance of the colon. Digestive enzymes will help digest the food in the stomach which helps move things along as well.

5. What are enzymes?

Enzymes are products that either begin or enhance the speed of chemical reactions. Present in the cells of plants and animals, they regulate biochemical reactions in both active and inactive forms. They are specific with respect to their functions and do only that which they were designed to do. They have been called the spark of life!

6. Why use non-animal produced or vegetarian enzymes over animal/pancreatic enzymes?

Vegetarian enzymes are more pure, very proactive, and react faster within their specific task. Animal/pancreatic enzymes, although designed to react the same way, may cause several negative side effects. This is because they may bring inherently non-compatible elements from their originations to your pet. These products generally carry a warning label regarding possible side effects from their use. Pancreatin can also be very aggressive.

7. Why Total-Zymes® PLUS™?

The marketplace is full of products that claim to aid in issues of every kind. Many products contain some of the ingredients that help with those issues, yet they do not contain enough of those ingredients to be truly therapeutic.  They may do something to help the issue, but they may not do enough. Other products may use some high quality ingredients, but may compromise elsewhere. At NWC Naturals Pet Products LLC., we use every element necessary to digest any food your pet may consume. We also made sure we added more than enough enzymes and probiotics to do the task completely. When enzymes do their work they must have a supply of high quality chelated minerals to activate the enzymes. These minerals are burned up in that catalytic enzyme activity. If those necessary minerals are not in the digestive enzymes formula itself, then those enzymes will rob the tissues and organs of those minerals in order to accomplish the complete digestion. To prevent this from happening and to enhance the speed and efficiency of our enzyme formula we have added our L.E.A.D.S.® system of patented chelated minerals so the process would be complete unto itself. The L.E.A.D.S.® system is exclusive to NWC Naturals™ Pet Products. In addition we have selected the best primary source ingredients so as to enhance our products performance. Total-Zymes® PLUS™ is the only product with 14 vegetarian enzymes for the total digestive solution and 11 Pro-Biotics with Pre-Biotics.
